About
Meet Kristen Hawkins: a passionate, full-of-heart triathlete, mom, and art therapist located in Saint Paul, Minnesota. Kristen loves helping others grow, transform and heal through coaching triathlon and running also in her work as a licensed professional clinical counselor.
Kristen has a long history of competitive distance running and triathlon and also spent six years as head track and field coach at a local high school. Kristen dove further into triathlon after having her first child and continues to set high goals in triathlon as a mom of two.
Among Kristen’s top achievements:
10th place in 35-39 age group — 2024 USA Triathlon Olympic Distance National Championships
Qualified to represent Team USA at the 2025 World Triathlon Championship Finals
Qualified for and competed in the 2022 70.3 Ironman World Championships
17th place in 30-34 age group — 2021 USA Triathlon Olympic Distance National Championships
Kristen pours her heart into everything she does and has a built up a deep well of knowledge in triathlon and running. She is committed to lifelong learning as an athlete and a coach.
With more of a natural knack for cycling and running, Kristen has had to learn how to swim competitively as an adult, and the road hasn’t been easy — but she now looks forward to every swim session and is consistently seeing times drop. Kristen is passionate about helping triathletes who may be intimidated by the water (especially the open water!). She knows what it takes to overcome the fear of the swim, increase efficiency in the water, and fall in love with swimming.
For many athletes, training and competing is about more than just performance. Kristen recognizes the incredible catalyst for growth, transformation, and healing that sport carries and is committed to fostering growth for the whole-person. With her expertise in mental health, Kristen brings a unique perspective to coaching.
Helping athletes find out what is possible on the race course can help them find out what might be possible off the race course. Kristen helps athletes manage priorities and place their training and competing in their lives in a way that it supports their core values and honors their most important relationships.

Reviews
“Kristen is an incredibly dedicated and talented coach. I have grown leaps and bounds in my running achievements since adding her to my team. She combines her skills as a therapist with her wealth of knowledge as an athlete and coach to make for an outstanding leader.
“Kristen is there for you in the ups and downs and doesn’t miss a beat, one of the best decisions I made this year was asking her to coach me! I truly couldn’t be happier. I went from thinking the fastest I could move my legs was 6:40 minute mile pace to 5:45 minute mile pace! All thanks to her knowledge and skills that she generously shared with me. Thank you, Kristen!”

“In the past year with Kristen as my coach, I have surpassed what I thought was possible. Now, I consider myself a (decently) competitive endurance athlete.
“Last year, I sidestroked the swim of my first triathlon. Now, I can swim freestyle, and I am continuing to perfect technique, build endurance, and strengthen my confidence in the water.
On the bike, I’ve learned how to go for more than just a leisurely ride and really push myself.
My best and favorite of all, the run, has been taken to a whole new level. I took 35 minutes off my best marathon time and feel I have even more to accomplish here.
“In all of my training with Kristen, she works with me to figure out the best plan for me. It’s easy to communicate with her to receive any guidance and support I need along the way. The workouts she coordinates push me but also provide an easy-to-maintain schedule. As a talented athlete herself, she is generous with her wealth of knowledge and expertise that goes beyond just swimming, biking, and running to nutrition advice, mental strength, and how your fitness can contribute to the overall well-being of your life.”
